Message: I once asked God for $4000 to visit the Holy Land with my wife. I had heard a priest say that if you asked something in God's will, He would sure4ly grant it. I prayed "Father, if you want us to visit the Holy Land we need $4000." I then thought of my elderly relatives and added "But I don't want anyone to die and leave us the money!" Ten days later my 90 year old aunt called and asked me to do her a small favor. I did it and when I stopped in to say hello, she was sitting at her small desk, writing something. She tore the check she had written out and handed it to me - $4000! She also said that she wanted to give it to me with "warm hands" to see how I would spend it. We went to the Holy Land and she got to hear all about it. It was a lifechanging experience on many levels.

Message: God has been very faithful to see me through life. The older I get the more He shows me how different He made me from others. Every time I ask him for confirmation of things He's told me, He answers. He has been so good to take care of us and provide.

Message: My mom had undergone a procedure at a hospital in Connecticut in order to correct a circulatory problem in her left leg. Half way throught the operation, the surgeon called and said that the procedure had failed and that we should schedule an amputation in the next several weeks. When she came up to her room, we prayed that she not lose her leg, somehow, someway. That God would lay His hand upon her and open a door. While in the hospital, one of my sisters felt the need to ask for another opinion and we called a relative of ours, a physician in NYC for a referral. Much to the hospital's discouragement, we signed her out and took her to NYU Medical Center for another consultation. We kept praying for God to intercede on our mom's behalf as she had suffered much in her life. She was admitted the same evening we drove her to New York. Upon seeing the vascular surgeon at NYU, we were advised that there was chance to save her leg. Thanks to God and Dr. Lamparello, our mother still has her leg to this day.

Message: Dear Anthony-In 1994 I was in the midst of great suffering- watching and nursing my mother who was dying of terminal bone cancer. I have always been a catholic but since adolescence was seeking God for the first time in my life, and needed answers. I was down on my knees begging and praying God, show me you exist, where are you in this life of pain and misery. I started reading the Bible looking for the reasons for this suffering as I sat at my mothers side. On this one particular day, I happened to open to the passage where an angel appears to Joseph and tells him not to be afraid to take Mary as his wife, that she has conceived of the Holy Spirit and will bear a Son who will be named "Emmanuel," meaning "God with us" [Matthew 1:23]."At that time I was getting assistance from a health-care aide three times a week." And that very day there was a new woman who had come. After she knocked on the door, I let her in and brought her over to my mother. When I asked her her name, she stated 'Emmanuella'! It was like I was knocked over the head with a two-by-four from God -- He was telling me He was with us, in the midst of this suffering. She suffered so much that I prayed for Him to take her. She died on my 35th birthday, May 11. In fact the coincidence with numbers is uncanny She gave birth to me on 5/11 at 1:15 and I was with her when she passed on 5/11 at 11:55- the numbers here are a signal to me that not only does he know the number of hairs on our heads, he somehow arranges the time we come in to this world and the time in which we leave. I dont know how He does it, but He does it! Since then the circumstances in my life went from hard to worse and from my bleeding heart I prayed most of the other prayers in your book. The miracle is that I am still standing- He carried me back. Im sure that there is only One set of footprints in my sand. This beautiful book has potential to help many people in directing them to the true source of help.

Message: This year I began a pro-life club at my high school. As might be expected, this ministry does not appeal to very many people my age, and I became very discouraged and even experienced a little depression as a result of the lack of participation. There were meetings when it was just our moderator, my brother and me. I prayed more subconsciously to God and Our Lady than anything (with short prayers and petitions throughout the days) that our new ministry got off the ground. Through the encouragement of my wonderful brother, my parents, and a couple friends, God answered my prayer in abundance. Since October (when we officially began the club), we have had a gift drive for the local pregnancy crisis center which was extremely successful, we have participated in the American Life League's National Pro-Life T-shirt day, and we are currently having a Baby Bottle Fundraiser. People are supposed to put their "spare change" in these baby bottles, yet only after the first week we have collected over $100. I have learned this year that if you are doing God's will and spreading his message of Life, there is no need to worry about the outcome. He will make sure every thing turns out for the best and the way it was meant to.

Message: I prayed my neice would make up with her father and mother. It was bad enough they were not talking but she also got engaged and they said they would not go to the wedding unless she apologized. I prayed and prayed and one day recently she apologized. Praise God. I continue to pray for their continued healing and to overcome their disagreements so their love for each other will only grow deeper as time goes on.

Message: Knowing just how proud a man I am, I prayed for humility. Through circumstances at work which were uncomfortable to say the least, God showed how to, not only humble myself, but how to return to humility when I stray.

Message: Dear Generous God,
You know better than us what is good and necessary for us, so we put our trust into your hands, like your Dear Mother Mary taught us.
Amen
